Luke 8:22–25 confronts us with a question that is just as relevant today as it was for the disciples: When the storm gets loud, whose voice are we listening to?
The disciples knew Jesus had told them they were going to the other side, but when the storm came, their circumstances became louder than His words. Pastor K.Paul Maurer reminds us that faith isn't pretending the storm isn't real. Faith is choosing to trust what Jesus has said even when what we see seems to contradict it.
The sermon also reminds us that Jesus doesn't simply have the power to calm the storm, He has the heart to walk with us through it.
